Job Summary
We are looking for hardworking, reliable, and organized Kitchen Helpers to assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support chefs and cooks with food preparation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties while ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks in preparing ingredients such as washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables.
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and food preparation areas.
- Store food supplies properly and assist with stock organization.
- Receive and unpack deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
- Dispose of kitchen waste safely and maintain cleanliness at all times.
- Refill kitchen supplies and ensure workstations are well stocked.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Support the kitchen team during meal preparation and service.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- KCSE certificate or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices is an added advantage.
